Wolfville

Situated where the inner harbour used to be, the duck pond was largely the creation of Charles Patriquin who lived in the big house to the east of the pond - now the Randall House Museum. The swampy remnants of the old inner harbour were a disgrace and he led the movement to clean up the banks and dredge a large pond which was fed by the stream to the south.

Generations of Wolfville children have carried with them through life their memories of the duck pond: feeding the ducks and sailing their boats in summer, skating and sliding on its margins in winter.
